SmartCage-C: The expandable cervical cage for ACDF

Anatomic shape
convex/concave anatomic profile.

Decompression
The posterior expansion of the cage completes the foramens release by opening the posterior space.

Fusion

A spacious inner opening for bone graft provides an optimal fusion surface.

Insertion

The original wedge profile facilitates insertion in narrow disc spaces, that usual retractors are unable to fully open in their utmost posterior part.

Stability
Enhances primary stability with a robust anchoring on the vertebral endplate.

Surgical steps

Before Expansion: The cage is engineered to fit in narrow spaces.

Expansion: The cage holder pushes the expansion core in its posterior position, gradually expanding the cage and releasing the foramens. Bone graft can then be inserted through the anterior window.

During Insertion: The cage holder is used to precisely guide the cage in the disc space. Once in insertion position, it is gently impacted to set the cage in its final location.
The shape of the cage simplifies the insertion procedure and eases the path to the final site without damaging the posterior part of the endplates.

SmartCage-C features

Material: The biocompatibility and mechanical properties of Peek- Optima® are perfectly suited for interbody applications.

The addition of BaSO4 provides partial X-Ray opacity for better positioning control.

Available sizes : available in 4 heights, ranging from 5 to 8 mm, corresponding to all pathological situations.
